Hannah and Sara at Wreck and Ruin, Ullapool

Hannah and Sara’s wedding at Wreck and Ruin today was something really special.

These two could teach us all a thing or two about resilience. About friendship that quietly becomes something deeper. And about facing illness together with love, laughter and sheer stubborn determination.

There was no fuss. No pretence. Just two people who knew exactly why they were there.

Before the ceremony, Sara was limbering up like she was about to run a marathon. Stretching, shaking out her arms, bouncing on her feet. Everyone laughed, but in a way, maybe she was. A marathon of emotion. Of joy. Of relief. Of getting to this moment together.

And when the ceremony began, led by Rona – The Humanist Celebrant, you could feel it. Not just love, but everything it had taken to get here.

Strength. Humour. Partnership.

Wreck and Ruin was the perfect backdrop for it all. Wild, honest, and completely itself. Much like Hannah and Sara.

Afterwards, there were hugs that lasted a little longer. Laughter that came from deep in the belly. And that quiet sense that everyone present knew they had witnessed something important.

Not just a wedding. Something bigger than that.

Here is a little sneak peek from a day full of strength, humour and love.
